100 episodes! It's hard to imagine, but I really have written, illustrated, and published 100 episodes of Rock Rocket and the City of Galanax. That's 2 years' worth of hard work and dedication to the story I have most wanted to tell for so long now.
For those unaware, Rock Rocket is the webcomic I started creating after graduating from the Savannah College of Art and Design. I attended SCAD to pursue my dreams of making a living off my imagination; however, the job market was not exactly easy on grads at the time. While I was still finding my footing, I created Rock Rocket to practice my skills, advertise myself, and fulfill my creative passions.
And after over 2 years of nearly weekly uploads, I've finally hit triple digits. It's been a real trip! Lots of grueling crunches, painful evenings, and bouts of writer's block. Looking back, it almost doesn't seem worth it, like a waste of my time. I had hoped Rock Rocket would be my ticket to the top, my career-defining legacy that I could possibly do forever. But that is not the case.
Readership for the series has never been where I wanted it to be, which is disheartening. But I can't let that get the best of me! Rock Rocket isn't a waste! It is a worthy learning experience that I need to use to better my future endeavors! I am not giving up my dreams yet; I still have so much more in me, and I refuse to give up until this road I'm walking leads me to paradise.
But until then, thank you for the ride, everyone who has read Rock Rocket and the City of Galanax. Here's to the future.
